Thermobond 3 - Powder coating repair filler is a solvent free metal repair putty for powder coating and an alternative to epoxy fillers for high temperature repairs. Thermobond is an easy way for high temperature metal repairs in cosmetic patching for metal finishers. Prior to application, simply heat the metal repair filler in the microwave for 15-20 seconds at a time and stir until consistency becomes soft. When product is pliable, spread it on and bake it into place using the same cure cycle as a standard epoxy or polyester powder.

SURFACE PREPARATION:
When trying to repair metal with the powder coating repair filler the surface must be clean, dry and free of wax, oil, grease and contamination. Lightly rough up the surface by sanding, wire wheel, or abrasive blast to enhance adhesion properties and promote mechanical bonding. Standard in-line pretreatment systems such as iron or zinc phosphate are preferred.

APPLICATION:
Using a spreader or blade, firmly press a thin layer of Thermobond 3 - powder coating filler/body filler over surface area to secure a good bond to the entire area in need of metal repair. Now apply the desired thickness (1/4 to 1/2 inch recommended). The part must then be heat cured. Your metal restoration is complete.
