Pulse Anodizing of Extruded and Cast Aluminum Alloys by: Anne Deacon Juhl, Ph.D.
This technical publication is separated into two sections to help the reader better understand all aspects and known best practices regarding the Anodizing of Extruded and Cast Aluminum Alloys.
The first section provides readers with in in-depth look at specific anodizing methods, comparing properties such as corrosion resistance, wear resistance, hardness and color appearance. The four different anodizing methods reviewed in this section are conventional DC anodizing, Pulse reverse anodizing and Pulse anodizing using two different frequencies.
The second section compares Pulse Anodizing vs. DC anodizing, and provides readers with a detailed overview of what happens to the various alloys and inter-metallic particles during the hardcoat anodizing process.
