Surface Preparation
The surface preparation machine, referred to as the washer, is designed to clean parts as they pass through the stages on the overhead conveyor. This washer is designed as a 5 stage washer. The heated stages are heated with Eclipse Immersion Tube type burners. The solution pumps are utilized to pump heated solutions through the header and riser piping to the spray nozzles. Each heated stage is provided with automatic temperature control using a thermocouple and digital controller.
The washer is designed and constructed with type 304 stainless steel. It is designed to minimize the amount of water usage and waste stream generated through counter-flow piping.
Dry Oven / Cure Oven
The dry oven is in combination with the cure oven comprising the “oven complex”. This oven is designed to operate at 400 Degrees F. The conveyor time in the oven was designed for 27 minutes at a conveyor speed of 305 FMP.
The oven is constructed with 6 inch tongue and groove panels with 8 # density mineral wool insulation.
The oven complex is heated with a direct fired remotely located gas burner. This burner is rated at 1,200,000 BTU/HR input. The recirculation fan is rated 7500CFM. It is a plug type fan which discharges the heated air into the distribution ductwork located on the floor of the oven.
Powder Booth
NORDSON 4 gun powder paint system.
Powder Enclosure
A pre-engineered building serves as the powder booth enclosure. It is constructed with 3” of fiberglass insulation with sheet metal skin on both the interior and exterior walls.
An air conditioned split system rated at 5 ton(s) keeps the enclosure at 70 degrees F. The duct work is designed with a cross-flow design to minimize the amount of powder escaping the booth. The ductwork is designed to allow outside air to enter the air conditioner unit to keep the enclosure pressurized. This pressurization of the enclosure keeps excess dirt and contamination from entering the room
