The Wastewater treatment system utilizes continuous flow and batch treatment methods to meet pretreatment standards by methods using hydroxide precipitation, flocculation, and physical separation through gravity settlement and filter press operations. This system has automated features (pump systems, pH adjust, etc.) quality control and monitoring equipment that is controlled through a programmable PLC system in the control panel.
Wastewater from continuous flow rinse tanks are delivered to a 4000 gallon equalization tank (two equalization tanks exist). The equalization tank is fitted with a continuous indicating level transmitter translated on the PLC to percentage. Wastewater is delivered from here to the continuous flow portion of the system to the first pH treatment tank (5' diameter, 6' high at 880 gallons). The liquid flows by gravity to a second pH adjustment tank (same dimensions) and then by gravity to the flocculation tank where polymer is added via a poly-blend metering system. The waters flow to a plate clarifier where settled sludge is automatically pumped into a sludge thickener tank. Four separate tanks are used for storage and/or special treatment of concentrated process baths. Waste acid and caustic holding tanks at 3200 gallon and 3000 gal capacity. Two 2500 gallon batch treatment tanks. 630 mm filter press and 800 mm filter press. Existing flow (per permit limitations) is 15,000 gallons per day or 30+ GPM
